Description

Set of fourteen architectural drawings of house for Cora Riley and the Misses Carvell in Newton, Massachusetts (commission #709) including four elevations, three plans, two framing plans, two plot plans, one heating plan, and two details. Most drawings are dated and signed by Merton S. Barrows, Amelia Brooks Valtz, or Nathaniel Perry Tufts. Plot plan was made by Civil Engineer Everett M. Brooks (Newtonville, Massachusetts).

Drawings depict a two-story Cape Cod-style house with two front dormers, an asbestos shingle roof, and a clapboard and flush board exterior. House has living room with fireplace, study, dining room, kitchen, maid's room and bathroom, covered porch, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an attached two-car garage.
