Daniel Webster (1782-1852) was an American lawyer and statesman who represented New Hampshire and Massachusetts in the U.S. Congress and served as the 14th and 19th U.S. secretary of state under presidents William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, and Millard Fillmore. Webster was one of the most prominent American lawyers of the 19th century, arguing over 200 cases before the United States Supreme Court in his career.
Ezra Lincoln (1819-1863).Ezra Lincoln was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Both his father and grandfather were named Ezra Lincoln. Ezra [III] married Helen Elizabeth Sprague in 1844, in Boston. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter and 1 son. He died on June 15, 1863, in Belmont, Massachusetts, at the age of 44.
Described as "one of the most comfortable and homelike hotels in the country," the Revere House Hotel hosted many notable guests during its years of operation, (1847-1912). Located near Beacon Hill's North Slope community, the hotel served as a witness to militant abolitionism in the aftermath of the Fugitive Slave Law. The building was destroyed by fire in 1912
