Description

This subseries includes glass plate and film negatives of diverse aviation scenes. The photographs depict hot air balloons, airplanes, pilots, and airports. The subseries highlights images of Amelia Earhart, and her reception at the Boston airport on July 9, 1928. Also included are photographs of individual planes, the East Boston airport, flight crews such as French pilots Coste and Bellante, headlines regarding aviation feats, and flights at Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
