Description

This series includes about 187 8 by 10 glass plate negatives of a variety of sights and scenes throughout New England. The series is divided into four subseries, landscapes, monuments, specials boats, and houses, bridges, and hotels. These categories were determined by the archivist and librarian at Yankee Publishing Company, before the collection was donated to Historic New England. The landscapes are further subdivided by state. These landscapes provide a glimpse into New England's beautiful natural sights, including the White Mountains, the Flumes, dunes, lighthouses, and coastlines.
The monuments also feature sights throughout New England, such as the Hooker Monument in Boston and the Hannah Dustin Memorial in New Hampshire. The special boats also provide a unique glimpse into New England, featuring boats on the New England coastline. Lastly, the houses, bridges, and hotels include images of historic houses in Massachusetts, hotels in the White Mountains, and homes on the coastline of Maine
