Description

This subseries contains approximately 80 glass plate and acetate or nitrate negatives of various towns and landscapes around Maine. Notable scenes include railroad scenes in Albany, a school house in Appleton, potato farming in Aroostook, farms in Bath, Gorham, Northport and Warren. Also featured is the shipping industry in Thomaston and windmills in Kezar.
The original listing provided by Yankee Publishing included many towns that were not found in the collection. These include Alfred, Augusta, Bangor, Bar Harbor, Bethel, Brunswick, Bucksport, Camden, Damariscotta, Edgecomb, Ellsworth, Freeport, Lewiston, Kennebunk, Kittery, Moosehead Lake, Norway, Ogunquit, Portland, Rockland, Spruce Head, Swift River, Union, and York.
