Description

Unbound album stored in black leather cover embossed with gold lettering reading "N. W. Aldrich" on the binding. Album contains thirty-weo sepia-toned gelatin prints, indluding twenty-three exterior views and nine interior views, and one floor plan of the Aldrich Mansion in Warwick, Rhode Island. The exterior views show the field stone house and its grounds, including landscape elements such as stepped gardens, shrubs, and lawns, and decorative elements such as stone sculptures. The interior views highlight features such as marble floors, elaborate coffered ceilings, and a large display of lustreware and china. All thirty-two prints are signed by Weber in the bottom right corner. The following is stamped on the verso of all thirty-two prints: "Paul J. Weber / Architectural photographer."

Nelson W. Aldrich was a Rhode Island Senator. His house on Warwick Neck in Rhode Island was designed by his son, architect William T. Aldrich. The structure was sold out of the family and is now owned by a church; it is used for receptions and other events.
