Description

One albumen print on mount of the Barker House in Pembroke, Massachusetts. The photographer is unknown. The print is dated to the late 19th century. The print measures 7 x 10 inches. On the verso of the mount, the following is written: "Barker House Pembroke, Mass. 1628 A.D. / Oldest in Massachusetts." In a different hand, the phrase "from Baker, Oct., 1952." is written along the right side of the verso. A small undated clipping from an unknown newspaper glued to the verso of the print reads: "354. Pembroke. The Barker house fell / to pieces some ten years ago. / Scituate Harbor. The Barker house here / was built about 1634 by John Williams, / and has been occupied by the Barker / family since 1694. B.N."
