This collection contains one portfolio containing nine graphite architectural drawings, two of which are loose and seven of which are bound, and one framed ink front elevation of an unidentified Victorian building in Boston, Massachusetts. The seven bound drawings in portfolio show floor plans for the first, second, and third floor as well as their framing and the framing for the front elevation. The two loose architectural drawings from the portfolio depict the framing for an unidentified room and another second floor plan. The framed front elevation matches the front elevation framing found within the portfolio.
The architectural drawings and elevation were completed by American architect S. S. Woodcock. They are dated circa 1850 as Woodcock operated in the Boston area during the latter half of the 19th century. The seven drawings that are bound to the portfolio are blind stamped with the following information: "S. S. Woodcock / ARCHITECT / 13 EXCHANGE ST. / BOSTON." The drawings are annoted in ink with measurements and notes indicating the use for a space.
