Read a Book, Take a Walk!

At Historic New England Sites or at Your Own Site

A StoryWalk® is a fun, educational activity that enables children to enjoy reading, the outdoors, and exercise all at the same time!  Laminated pages from a children’s story book are attached to wooden stakes to create a walking route for a fun, outdoor reading experience.

Optional craft activities that connect with the Storywalk® book are available at the end of the walk for an additional fee.

StoryWalk® was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.

Program Details

Available Weekdays, Year-round

Cost: Fee starts at $100.00 and is dependent upon number of days the supplies are needed, distance travelled and if a craft is added.

Grade Level: Pre-K – Grade 5

Maximum Group Size: no limit
