Description

One mounted albumen print depicting a street view of a fire drill taking place at Stoddard, Kimberly & Co. Wholesale Grocers. The grocery, established in 1838, was located in New Haven, Connecticut. In the foreground, a horse drawn fire engine is pictured with two unidentified men, one on the engine and the other on a ladder. The grocery has four large ladders pressed along the front of the building with seven unidentified men climbing the ladders. Another fire engine is pictured directly in front of the building.
