The catalog shows mostly black-and-white and several color photographs of individual pieces of furniture. The catalog also shows some images of furniture arranged in rooms. Inserted into this catalog are 7 separate pages that show additional furnishings, some of these pages have handwritten prices near items.

This catalog retains the blue paper order form in the back. The catalog includes an index on the last page.

William & Leavens & Company was founded in 1874 (incorporated January 1, 1898) by George M. Leavens and Thomas Trefry in Boston, Massachusetts. In early 1948, the firm was purchased by Paines of Boston, a local competitor.

The company operated under several names: Leavens & Trefry (1874-1885); G. M. Leavens & Son (1885-1898); and William Leavens & Company (1898-1948)
