Description

Bound vacation scrapbook and diary documenting a trip to Maine and New Hampshire. Contains 52 pages, 26 of which are blank. Included in the scrapbook are 35 photographs depicting unidentified individuals in various settings, such on a boat, on a walk, and standing in front of a cabin, as well as landscapes. The scrapbook also contains approximately 35 pieces of ephemera, including postcards, maps, brochures, and tickets, related to the travels described. Typrwritten accounts of the vacation are included throughout. The entries begin on June 28, 1935, and end on August 17, 1935. Activities described include visiting family and friends, climbing mountains, boating, swiming, shopping, and other recreational activities. The author and their companions primarily traveled via automobile, although other forms of transporation mentioned include the Flying Yankee and the Mount Washington steamer.
