Three mounted albumen prints depicting the interior of the North Bennet Street Industrial School, known today as the North Bennet Street School, in Boston, Massachusetts. The photographs measure 11 x 14 inches and are dated circa 1900. The first photograph depicts the ceramics studio. Three male students are seen in the studio working on various projects. They are surrounded by ceramics, some completed and some in progress, and ceramics supplies. In the background, other unidentified students can be seen sitting at desks in a classroom. This photograph was taken by photographer Leon E. Dadmun. "Dadmun / 169 Tremont St. / Boston" is debossed on the bottom left corner of the mount's recto.
The second photo depicts the empty woodworking studio. Sawhorses and other woodworking tools are seen around the room. A sign on the wall reads, "North Bennett St. Industrial School / An Institution for Education and Social Improvement and for / Research and Experiment in Educational and Social Methods." In the back the smocks students wore in class are seen hung on hooks. The photograph was taken by George P. Hewitson. "G. P. Hewitson / Photographer / No. 1 N. Grove Street Boston, Mass. / Tel. 1582 Haymarket" is stamped on the verso of the mount.
The third photo depicts nineteen male students sitting at desks making ceramics. The walls and shelves of the room are covered in ceramics. The photo was taken by noted marine photographer Nathaniel L. Stebbins. "N.L. Stebbins / Photographer / 132 Boylston St. / Boston, Mass." is stamped on the verso of the mount.
