Description

Design drawing titled "Light Chair of English Oak" rendered in ink on trace. Front view is shown. Side chair has rectangular caned back with serpentine crest and rounded ears; molded rectangular stiles and bottom rail; caned seat; serpentine curved seat rails; cabriole legs with scrolled feet; and double lyre stretcher. Extensive carved and gilded ornamentation includes carved foliage and shells on crest rail, seat rails, and legs. Title and design notes are handwritten on drawing.
