Description

Design drawing titled "Piano Bench of Satinwood & Inlay" rendered in ink on trace. Perspective view is shown. Empire-style rectangular bench has upholstered cushion; tall flared sides with carved volutes at top ends and carved stiles; straight apron; four tapered square reeded legs with carved turning at top; and spade feet. Extensive inlay ornamentation includes; garlands and swags on apron; diamonds on corner blocks of apron; and large elaborate anthemions within circular scrolled frame on sides. Title, design notes, "For Mrs. Mrs. J. G. Moore N. Y. 13653 N. Y. 7744," "April - 8 - 1907 / J. B. W." and "11609" are handwritten on drawing.
