Design drawing titled "Sofa of Mahogany E. C. Stanwood" rendered in pencil on trace. Front and side views are shown. Empire-style sofa has straight crest rail with scrolled foliate ends; outwardly curving arms; arm supports with carved acanthus leaves terminating in rosettes; straight skirt; monopodium feet with acanthus leaf brackets; and upholstered back, seat and arms. Title, design notes, and "Det. March 14 - 1902 J. P. H." are handwritten on drawing.
