Text on the card reads "Louisburg Square was established as a "private park" in 1826, although no houses were built until the 30's. Various celebrities, including Howells and Louisa Alcott, have lived in the Square." The image is from "Old Boston days on Beacon Hill," published by the Women's Municipal League.
