Fireworks, lanterns, boats, and canoes with passengers are pictured. The photographer is likely George H. Van Norman, a local photographer who was active in Waltham between 1884 and 1890. The following is printed underneath the print on the recto of the mount: "Van Norman, Charles River Carnival. '86 Waltham. / (Copyrighted)."
