Description

Fifteen boudoir cards depicting interiors and exteriors of various buildings at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. The prints are dated circa 1895. Prints depict the exteriors of buildings still standing today, such as Hubbard House, Morris House, Lilly Hall, Washburn House, and the rear of College Hall. Exteriors of buildings that are no longer standing, no longer used, or have been renovated are also pictured, including Brews House, Wallace House, and the Lyman Plant House. The prints also depict the interiors of buildings such as Hatfield House, Whitcomb House, and Wallace house. Interiors pictured include living and sitting rooms, a front room, a parlor, and a dining room.

The photographs were taken by A.J. Schillare, a photographer based in Northampton, Massachusetts. Six of the fifteen prints have the following blind stamp located on the bottom right corner of the recto:" A.J. Schillar / Photo."
