The H.H. Richardson designed Allston Depot is in the foreground with several horse-drawn vehicles around it. The Allston Hall building houses the Odd Fellows, the Taft & Waite real estate business and the Allston News Company. Text at the top of the building reads "Allston Hall Block, 1889-1890." On the other side of the street is J.A. Finley plumbing and hardware and the Boston & Albany Railroad building car shops.
