This image was taken in 1939 by photographer John F. Lane for the City of Boston Assessing Department. It depicts Epstein's Drugstore, located at the corner of Scollay Square and Pemberton Square, with the Suffolk County Courthouse visible in the background.

This building is no longer standing and is now the site of the Center Plaza building.

Epstein's Drugstore operated at 2 Scollay Square since at least 1939 (if not earlier) before relocating to the Kimball Building on nearby Tremont Street, closing c. 1966-1967.
