Description

Ticket to "admit the bearer to the Public Collation, at the marquee of His Excellency the Commander in Chief", in this case referring to President James Monroe. The ticket is dated to August 27, 1824 and the event location is unknown. On the reverse of the ticket, it is written that the "ticket [is] doubtless [the property] of Daniel Weld, the donor's grandfather.
