Design Drawings

Description

This subseries contains mounted, mostly undated, design drawings rendered in pencil on tissue paper. Drawings are various sizes mounted on 13 x 10-inch boards. A portion of drawings feature added pencil shading or watercolor. A small portion of the drawings show expanded details of the piece. A small portion of the drawings have written measurements included on the drawings. A small number of the design drawings depict different design schemes for the same subject and those have been arranged together. A small number of the ecclesiastical drawings depicting chairs include a large label on the verso with images of hymn boards. This subseries contains ecclesiastical support furnishings including lecterns, lighting, niches, poor boxes, processional crosses, small shelving, small tables, a wall fountain, and votive candlestands. This subseries includes drawings of a reredos with the words "Proposed Alter and reredos for Grace Church Newark NJ". The subseries includes a kneeler with the words "In memory of William Edgar Shepherd 1850-1925" on the verso.
