Description

Untitled design drawing rendered in watercolor and pencil. Front view is shown. Drawing depicts a Neoclassical-style mirror and bureau. Rectangular wall-mounted mirror has wood frame with narrow sides and bottom; deep top with curved corners; central oval cartouche extending above top; carved foliate scroll with central anthemion on top of frame; and carved swags and foliate garland at bottom of frame. Rectangular bureau or chest has overhanging top; deep frieze; two drawers with two round pulls each; and columnar legs with short tapered feet. Both mirror and bureau have painted Neoclassical motifs including anthemions, bellflowers, garlands, and swags; the bureau also has a rectangular painted scenic panel on the top drawer. Dimensions are handwitten at bottom.
