"Sofa - All Gold"

Description

Design drawing titled "Sofa - All Gold" rendered in pencil and colored pencil on trace. Front view is shown; outline of top view is also provided. Neoclassical-style sofa has upholstered back below curved crest rail; tall curving arms; upholstered seat; straight skirt; two tapered fluted front legs; two tapered rear legs. Carved ornamentation includes: flowers and foliage at center of crest rail; anthemions on front of arm supports; and tablet with quatrefoils at base of arm supports. Drawing has additional markings that pencil in a straight crest rail and two additional front legs. Title, "42636" and "Mrs. Ginn Music Room" are handwritten on drawing. Also handwritten are: "Det. Jan 28 - 1903" and "Det. 3992." Mrs. Ginn refers to Mrs. Edwin Ginn of Winchester, MA.
