Description

This series includes preliminary graphic information for dozens of properties. Not all of these were reported to the Department of the Interior. Arranged alphabetically by location, they provide the greatest amount of graphic information in the collection. The inventory of the contents (available in the print version of the finding aid in the Library & Archives) indexes them into three categories and indicates to which sketchbooks, if any, they correspond (see Series IX for sketchbooks). The three categories are: 1. materials bearing survey numbers but not listed in the HABS Massachusetts catalog (indexed alphabetically by property name), 2. materials listed in the HABS Massachusetts catalog but chronicled in the Library of Congress photographs only (indexed by location), and 3. materials for properties listed in the HABS Massachusetts catalog.
