Description

Each of the twelve, two-side pages has openings for a 3 x 4 photograph. Some of the pages are empty. The album has a brown leather cover with a tooled geometric design and black decoration, the endpapers are green and gold. The edges of the cardboard pages are gold. Two gold colored clasps are intact.

A stamp on the first page shows that photegraphs were by "Black & Batchelder 173 Wahington Street, Boston" Some of the sitters have been identified and their names are handwritten directly under their image. There are six named sitters in the album: "George Barrett", "Frances Hall Barrett (?)", "Geo. R. Barrett", "Geo. R. Barrett and step daughters", "Caroline Barr and a sister?", "Samuel Warren Chase" x2. Seven of the photographs are unidentified. There are a total of 14 photographs in the album. The album is undated.

This album was removed from Barrett House on April 13, 2026 for long-term preservation and protection.
