ca. 1895
GUSN-387119
"Negative exposed about 1895 for Mr. Richards M. Bradley. It represents canoeing on the Allegash Stream (not the river). It is a comparativley small stream but quite rapid, which runs from Allegash Lake in Maine to Chamberlain Lake. This little stream is beautifully wild and entiry unsoilt, for although at high water it is pretty fast, at low water it requires a good deal of wading and the guides don't like it.
The man in the stren is Mr. George B. Morison of Boston, and the man in the bow is Mr. Arthur Lyman of Boston. Mr. Morison died in the winter of 1931-32. Information from Mr. Arthur Lyman 3 Nov. 1932."
