Menu, celebration for the production of The Phantom of the Opera, Boston Harbor Hotel, circa 1992

Description

Cameron Mackintosh and the Really Useful Theatre Company's touring production of the hit Broadway musical "The Phantom of the Opera" opened at Boston's Wang Center in August 1992 and ran until November of that year. This menu is from a celebration put on by Mackintosh and the production company at the Boston Harbor Hotel. The cover of the folded menu bears the musical's iconic logo and the Phantom's mask, while the inside lists the various appetizer, main course, and dessert options offered to guests. Also inside the menu is a statement by Mackintosh and the production company thanking corporate sponsors, including the Boston Harbor Hotel, as well as note stating that "The floral arrangements will be donated to the AIDS Hospice and the Children's Hospital of Boston at the conclusion of tonight's celebration."
