One black-and-white photographic print of the interior corner of the sitting room in Mr. and Mrs. Roland Newhal's housel at 123 Central Avenue in Southbridge, Massachusetts. The house was one of seven three family houses built by the American Optical Company for workers and their families.The houses are part of the Twinehurst American Optical Company Neighborhood, a residential historic district. The photograph depicts a hutch, a rug, a dropleaf table with candles and a photograph on it, two photographs hung on the wall, and a slat-back chair. The photograph was taken by photographer A.H. Pease circa 1920.
