Unknown Groups

Description

This series includes three separate subseries of glass plates that were grouped together for an unknown reason by Lorna Trowbridge, Archivist and Librarian for Yankee Publishing, Inc. The first are 5 x 7 and 5 x 8 glass plate negatives that were described as being wonderful images of everyday life. Featured are scenes of Bernardston, Massachusetts, Newburyport, Massachusetts, The second subseries is a group of 5 x 7 images of logging, camping, and ladies snowshoeing. The original description from Yankee Publishing states that archivist Lorna Trowbridge had no knowledge of these images. The last subseries is this series is a box of 5 x 7 negatives that were not included in the original listing from Yankee Publishing, but were most likely grouped together for a specific reason, whether prints were made from them, they were taken by the same photographer, or they were taken at the same time is unknown to Historic New England. The images depict families celebrating birthdays and weddings, an early automobile shop, and individual houses.
