Description

Untitled design drawing rendered in watercolor and pencil. Perspective view is shown. Chinese-inspired sofa has outward curving sides and back; straight crest rail and side rails of equal height; six caned panels on back and sides with fretwork motifs in corners of panels; straight skirt; square legs; and upholstered seat. Two octagonal side tables are shown. Each table has overhanging top; fretwork apron; medial shelf with fretwork trim; and straight legs. Handprinted in pencil are "Large Sofa 18073" and "Coffee Table 18074." Blind stamped in lower left corner is: "Irving and Casson / A. H. Davenport Co. / Boston - New York."
